Description The Rhapsody of the Ant Woman de Teuta S Rizaj:

THE RHAPSODY OF THE ANT WOMAN is a collection of selected poems weaved together into one poem, mainly expounding esoteric teachings. The first-person narrative of the ant woman represents the human soul who awakens from the state of torpor and then takes on a journey of passing beyond the deserts of the self. Many of its parts propound the doctrine that the awakened soul, through experience of overwhelming love alone, can progress along a path, which can ultimately lead to re-absorption into the absolute reality. Other parts, while transforming belief or dream visions into poetry, imply a certain expatriation of mind, engrossment with life and spirit of another than oneself. Yet others are considerably mixed with extraneous matter of the world presenting a panorama of contemporary society. Each chapter of the poem has alongside a corresponding art work drawing in a symbolical framework complementing the poetical imagery. For many years, Teuta S. Rizaj has been writing poetry but has published thus far only a fraction of her poems and that at the request of her dear friend. Her award-winning poem Rise has been praised as "wonderfully expressive...displays a unique perspective and original creativity - judged to be the qualities most found in exceptional poetry." Rizaj has until the recent past been a professor of writing at Hawaii Tokai International College. She has also taught writing and literature at many universities in the country and overseas. She has translated and authored books, book reviews, articles, and studies in Kosovo, her country of birth, and in the U.S. As a naturalized American, she lived for nearly two decades in New York City. For over a decade, she has been making Honolulu, Hawaii, her dear home, where she is at work on her first novel and short-story book. She enjoys drawing and painting, and the company of the seekers of Truth.
